YAAAAYAYAYAYAYAYYYYY YES EVERYBODY SHOULD LOVE JOHN HE’S JUST SO LOVABLE YOU HAVE TO <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
He does theatre more than anything, so if you can get to London to see one of his plays I recommend that above all. Telly doesn’t do him justice IMHO. He’s in The Hothouse at the Traf Studios at the moment and from August 28th he’s playing the lead in Edward II at the National, which will be AWESOME I’ve no doubt at all. And Hothouse is bloody brilliant. Hope I can see it again… I really wish I’d seen his Richard II, because by all accounts he was FABULOUS. I find that very easy to believe.
If you’re after telly, he’s not done that much. Too busy being the best thing on stage to have time :P This is him on imdb (I see they’ve put L&M on there now!) and as you can see, there’s not exactly a lot there. And half of what is on there is completely impossible to find. The Academy? Good luck with that! (Trailer’s on youtube, though, at least.) And of course the NT Live things you can’t get on dvd, just go to find at the archive. Look out for when they start selling tickets for the Habit of Art encore screening on in a few months, he’s not got a big part but ALAN BENNETT and RICHARD GRIFFITHS and when he is in it he’s very cute. I wish they were showing Stoops again, because he was perfect in that *sigh* He’s quite sweet in Holby Blue…
…and of course the Hollow Crown is really worth watching, though he’s not in it much! Personally I’m loving him in L&M. Ashley is so sweet, isn’t he?! With his flamenco and his elephant costume and his looking sad all the time?! <3
As a bonus, he’s also the sweetest, kindest, friendliest guy ever. Nicest bloke you could hope to meet. It makes me so happy every time someone says good things about him. First thing I heard coming out of The Hothouse the other day was an old man standing in the doorway saying “I’ve been coming to the theatre all my life and that John Heffernan is one of the most talented actors I’ve ever seen.” I could’ve screamed with pride xD No, he’s not famous, but everyone who sees him adores him and the theatre critics are all completely in love with him and he keeps getting cast in all these wonderful plays and it really couldn’t happen to a better man <3
(Essay over… Never praise John in front of me, I get overexcited xD)
