I’VE FINALLY SEEN THE HOTHOUSE!
I’m crap at reviews so not even really going to try but I have to post to say I loved it because I LOVED IT. I have absolutely no idea how I managed to keep missing Simon Russell Beale on stage for so long but it was a complete and utter joy to see him at last. John Simm was awesome…prefer him on stage to on screen, I think. Actually, Indira = fab, Harry = amazing (really amazing - I am SO impressed, what a star), John…oh, John. Wonderful John. Is it me being biased or do you steal every show you’re in? I do suspect the latter. He’s better and better every time. But they were all great, and how they remembered all those long speeches and zipped through them at such breakneck speed I will never understand. And my first Pinter! LOVED IT! I very much enjoy something that’s hilarious and disturbing at the same time. Makes you feel guilty for finding it funny, like you’re in on it. LOVE.
Far too tired to remember any details of the Q&A but I remember it was interesting and good fun. SRB talking about how awful it is when you forget a line, Clive talking about warming up on the roof, Heff saying that he enjoyed the cake when it was red velvet but that it’s been a bit cardboardy lately and all suggestions for new recipes and any donations of cake are gratefully accepted because he eats a lot… hopefully I’ll remember a bit more later…
Meeting Jamie Lloyd at the stage door (and telling him Stoops was my favourite play of 2012, and then him just fangirling over John at me xD) and then hugs from John in the pub afterwards were just a big bonus, really
Can I go again please?! Now?!
