REBECCA HALL: “Benedict was one of those boys that you met and you could already see what he was going to be like when he was middle-aged. He is a one-off, and it is the fate of people who are unique for others not to notice their talent straight off the bat. It’s easy for people to say, ‘Wow, you are the next Johnny Depp.’ Benedict was never going to be the next anybody. He was always going to be just who he is.”

Don’t you want to be a man of influence?

No, I’d prefer to be in the trenches.

My overriding memory of Stoops is the final night: John and Harry looning around chucking that orange everywhere, everyone being very tired, and laughing like a loon throughout the whole thing. God, that was a good night. xD

Yessssss! And then David Fynn still eating it even though it’d been thoroughly trampled, and John and Harry’s faces. xD Oh, it was the BEST, it really was <3 Was it the first time we went that Harry accidentally hit someone in the front row with the orange and John just completely lost it and couldn’t stop giggling for ages? Those two corpsing all over the place…*happy nostalgic sigh* I loved at the stage door when John apologised for not sticking to the sсript properly. That’s what made it so funny! Ah, I miss it terribly. *begins petition for encore screening*

I wasn’t with you the first time you went, and I don’t remember someone in the audience getting hit, so it must have been your first time. BUT, I do remember John getting hit square in the face with most of the orange and Harry having to ask him if he was alright. xD Come to think of it, I think that was the final night, too!

Oops, I really thought you were there! My memory must be even worse than I thought…sorry :-/ I don’t actually remember John getting hit with it either, and that really does sound the sort of thingI ought to have safely stashed in my brain. Perhaps I was laughing too much to commit it to memory properly :P I remember him really, really making a point of squashing it on the floor, and then their ‘Oh god REALLY?!’ faces when David ate it anyway xD

(I wish the trailer had more John and Harry in it for gif-making. And also just memories. Harry’s dancing should have made it in for starters *shakes head*)

@темы: fantasticmeretricious, *sherlock face*, and then realised, i haven't known for ages but i think i noticed there was someone else posting john stuff rather than just me

high res close up. #BenedictCumberbatch

Till now that she was threatened with its loss, Emma had never known how much of her happiness depended on being first with Mr. Knightley, first in interest and affection…She had herself been first with him for many years past. She had not deserved it; she had often been negligent or perverse, slighting his advice, or even wilfully opposing him, insensible of half his merits, quarrelling with him because he would not acknowledge her false and insolent estimate of her own - but still, from family attachment and habit, and thorough excellence of mind he had loved her, and watched over her from a girl, with an endeavour to improve her, and an anxiety for her doing right, which no other creature had at all shared. In spite of all her faults, she knew she was dear to him; might she not say, very dear?

Emma, Jane Austen

The trouble with reading Emma when I was so young was that it made my expectations far too high right from the off. Mr Knightley = the best.

@темы: fantasticmeretricious, honestly it was HILARIOUS, i really do apologise to everyone following me who couldn't give a fuck who john and harry are, normal service will now be resumed, or what on earth went on with the orange

COUSINS! :D *high fives* Edward I is my 25th great grandfather, so we’re only a couple of generations out! I know it’s so long ago that there’s looooooads of us who are direct descendants now, but I just think it’s cool to actually be able to trace each step back. I’m sad like that :P
